Interpreters and Safety on the Job

In this module, interpreters will learn how to keep healthy, even when interpreting for patients that are ill.  Interpreters will also learn about some of the communicable diseases and infectious diseases and the preventative measures that can be taken to protect both the interpreter and the patient they are interpreting for. We also discuss standard and contact precautions, and personal protective equipment, when it is required, and how to properly wear and dispose of it.
